Delete your account

We've made account deletion simpler and faster. You can now delete your account directly within the FairShare app.

1. Open FairShare on your device.
2. Go to Settings and open Advanced Settings.
3. Tap Delete Account.

Note: For security and data integrity, you must settle all outstanding debts (money you owe or are owed) before you can delete your account. This action is immediate and permanent.

What happens next?

• You're signed out and can no longer sign in to the account.
• Your email address, profile photo and push token are removed.
• Receipt and payment-proof images you uploaded are permanently deleted.
• Groups you own are deleted in full, including other members' entries in them.
• In groups you don't own, bills and payments you took part in stay so other members' balances remain correct, but your name is replaced with "Deleted User" and a short code.
• Crash and analytics data linked to your account expire within 90 days and 14 months respectively.

Can't use the app?

You can ask us to delete your account without installing the app. Email hello@fairshareapp.co.in from the email address on your FairShare account, with the subject "Delete my FairShare account". We'll confirm the request and complete it within 30 days. The rule about unsettled balances still applies, and we'll tell you if any need settling first.
